Items disappearing
Items disappearing after a run is the failure this page is about: an unattended run only pays off if what the carriage brings home survives the trip. This page keeps three kinds of statement apart: what players report, what the official announcements actually confirm, and what you can do now with features the demo already ships.
What players report
Everything in this section is a player account of a loss, printed as a report and not as a fact. None of these reports carries an official reply in the material this page was written from.
Player reports
No item in this list is confirmed by the game or by the developers. Where an item rests on a player’s own reading of what happened, its source line says so.

Equipment
Player report UnverifiedA Steam forum thread reports gear vanishing from the slots it was equipped in. When the thread was read it had no replies.

Inventory and chest
Player report UnverifiedNegative English reviews say inventory contents and chest contents were deleted, and more than one says it.

The carriage, after a rollback
Player report UnverifiedReviews in English report a rollback erasing progress, one of them a carriage full of high-tier gear. The rollback itself is covered on the disconnects page.

Locked items
Player report UnverifiedTraditional Chinese reviews report items still being sold even after being locked. The official record shows locking was new at the time and needed a fix within a day, which is further down this page.

The anti-cheat path
Player report UnverifiedOne English review blames the anti-cheat: it says the item was taken by an automatic check rather than by the player. That is the reviewer’s reading of the event, not a documented behaviour.

What the official record confirms
These are patch-note lines and the online-mode description that came with them. Together they say how saving works, which failures were fixed, and what the game offers when a sale goes wrong.
Official record
Each item summarises a line from the official announcement feed and names the patch and date it came from. A fix note claims only that the failure was addressed — it is not an explanation of why it happened.

Progress is saved against a server
Verified from the buildAn online character’s important data is managed by the server. That is the headline of the 0.1.13 patch, which introduced online characters and converted existing characters to offline ones.
0.1.13, 2026-06-27 — “important data is managed by server”

Returning to town triggers a save
Verified from the buildThe 0.1.13e hotfix added an auto save that fires while you are in town. Returning to town is therefore the save moment a player controls.
Hot Fix 0.1.13e, 2026-06-30 — “Added auto save while in town”
-
Auto-save reliability was raised
Verified from the buildV0.1.10 says auto-save reliability was greatly improved so that a crash does not lose all progress. A later hotfix fixed crashing during a save, which could leave a corrupted save file.
Patch V0.1.10, 2026-06-18 — “Greatly improve auto save reliability to avoid lose all progress when game crashes”; 0.1.13f, 2026-07-17 — “Fixed crashing during save sometimes cause corrupted save files”
-
Reviving in town could cost the save
Verified from the buildThe patch note is explicit: reviving in town occasionally caused save loss, and that has been fixed.
Hot Fix 0.1.13e, 2026-06-30 — “Fixed occasionally revive in town causing save loss”
-
Reviving in combat could duplicate loot
Verified from the buildTwo hotfixes in two days handle the same moment from opposite sides: one fixed duplicated loot after reviving in combat, and the earlier one fixed the reverse, no further loot dropping after such a revive.
Hot Fix 0.1.13e, 2026-06-30 — “Fixed after revive in combat sometimes seeing duplicated loot”; Hot Fix 0.1.13d, 2026-06-29 — “Fixed after revive in combat no more loot drop”
-
Chests could disconnect the client
Verified from the buildTreasure chests were causing various disconnections and lost saves. The same hotfix restricts opening a chest to town, which is also where the save happens.
Hot Fix 0.1.13b, 2026-06-27 — “Fixed treasure chests causing various disconnections and lost save. Treasure chests now also can only be open in town”
-
Locked items could still be sold
Verified from the buildItem locking arrived in 0.1.13 as a guard against accidental selling. The next day’s hotfix fixed locked items still going out through sell-all, so a build older than that fix can still sell them.
0.1.13, 2026-06-27 — “Added item Lock to prevent accidental selling”; Hot Fix 0.1.13c, 2026-06-28 — “Fixed locked items still sold through sell all”
-
Accidental sales have a way back
Verified from the buildVendors keep the last eight items you sold to them and will sell them back. This predates the online-mode work and is the one recovery path the patch notes spell out.
Patch 0.1.9, 2026-06-16 — “Now you can buyback the last 8 items you sold to the NPC”
-
Backup saves were moved
Verified from the buildThe last hotfix in the line moved backup saves to a more secure folder. The note does not say where, so this page does not either.
0.1.13f, 2026-07-17 — “Moved backup saves to a more secure folder”
What to try, in order
Every step below rests on something the build or a patch note documents; no step here depends on guessing at a cause. The order follows what a step costs you, cheapest first.
Documented features only
Every step uses a feature the build or a patch note documents. Following them cannot guarantee that a haul survives, and this page does not pretend otherwise.
- Walk the character home Auto save fires while you are in town, so a trip home is the save moment you control. If a haul matters, let the run finish and the delivery play out before you close anything.
- Check the carriage before the storage Loot travels home in the carriage, and a later patch tuned the drop-off timing so the whole delivery can be watched. What is still on the carriage has not reached storage yet, so look there first.
- Buy back the last eight sales Every vendor keeps the last eight items you sold to them. If the missing piece is not equipped and is not in storage, ask the merchant you sold to before writing it off.
- Lock what you care about Item locking exists to stop accidental selling, and sell-all was fixed to respect it. If your client is older than that fix, this is the one change worth updating for.
- Rule out the filters before you rule in a loss The life-skill tree can filter what the carriage picks up and auto-sell loot at drop-off. A piece that never reached storage may have been sold on the way home rather than deleted, so read those settings before anything else.
- Report it with the detail the notification carries The disconnect notification now carries more detail, which is exactly what a report needs: the build id, what the notification said, and when it happened. The official announcements ask players to send bug reports to the game’s Discord and to the Steam community boards.
What stays unresolved
This page stops where the official record stops.
No official answer
These questions have no answer in the official record, and this page does not answer them by inference.
-
Why it happens
Pending verificationNo announcement states why items go missing. Every line in the record describes a symptom and a fix; none of them explains the loss itself, and this page does not claim a cause either.
-
Which fix answers which report
Pending verificationNothing official ties a particular report to a particular fix, and that window moved fast: item locking shipped on 2026-06-27 and the sell-all fix landed the next day. A report may well predate the fix that answers it.
-
The reports nobody answered
Pending verificationThe forum thread and the reviews in the record had no official reply when they were read, so nothing confirms that losses of this kind have stopped.
