Deskrawl status effects

Every status the build defines, in the two kinds it stores them as: the effects it puts on a target and the buffs it puts on the player. What a status asset holds is its shape — a debuff flag, a stack ceiling, a tick rate — and almost no text, so that is what this page prints.

The effects it puts on a target

These five carry no name in the game’s strings. The words below are the ones the build files them under, and each of them is used by the game’s own sentences: [Bleeding] in three warrior strikes, Vulnerable in two abilities and a talent, stun in a talent and two stat definitions, chill in the sorcerer’s cold spells, and freeze in a legendary axe.

Bleeding Debuff 100 no 2 no
Chill Buff 1 no 0 no
Frozen Debuff 1 no 1 no
Stunned Debuff 1 no 1 no
Vulnerable Debuff 1 no 0 no

The buffs it puts on the player

The rest carry a name, and most are named after what grants them — the boots, the ring, the pauldron, the potions. Five of them are stored as surviving a session: those are the two flasks and the three potions.

What the build stores for a status

Six stored values make up every row above, and one stored value is missing from all of them:

  • Kind is the build’s own debuff flag. It is what the row says, which is not always what the name suggests: chill carries the flag switched off even though the sorcerer’s descriptions call it chilling, and the table prints the flag.
  • Max stacks and stackable are separate fields, which is why a row can carry a ceiling of one with stacking switched off, or a hundred with it switched on.
  • Tick rate is stored per status and the build states no unit for it, so the page prints the number and leaves the unit where the build left it.
  • Persists across sessions is the one field that outlives a run: the flasks and the potions carry it, and nothing else does.
  • Duration is stored on every status as a token rather than a value, so this page prints none — the same reason a stat on an equipment row shows an em dash. The game’s own duration token is formatted in seconds, which is the one thing about it that is readable.

Two rows the build never filled in

Two further entries belong to the family and store nothing at all: the chest armour’s own health cost and thorn gain. They have no icon, no shape and a compounded name, so they are counted on this page and left out of its tables rather than printed as two rows of em dashes.

Where these come from

A status is never applied by itself: it is what an ability, a piece of gear or a town purchase does to a target or to you.

  • Equipments The legendary effects that apply several of the named buffs above.
  • Warrior The abilities and talents that inflict bleeding, vulnerable and stun.
  • Sorcerer The cold spells behind the chill effect.
  • Minions The creatures that apply the two named ability buffs, and the rest of the cart data.
  • Progression The enemy growth and elite multipliers these effects run against.
  • Glossary The stats a status modifies, defined in the game’s own words.
